The Terrace Curling Club will be hosting a learn to curl event this Saturday at the curling rink.
“It's just a basic clinic to help people who have very little or no experience,” said Sylvia Griffiths, one of the coaches working the clinic.
She explained that basic skills include learning to slide, deliver a rock, sweep the ice and possibly some game strategy as well.
Griffith will be joined by Kathy Simpson and Joan Kucharyshen, all three of whom are Level 3 coaches.
After the basics are learned, Griffiths said they can help place new curlers with teams.
“And there is always support for new curlers throughout the year,” she added.
Cost for the day is $25 and includes lunch.
