Fun ‘n’ funds

More than $13,000 raised at Guns and Hoses charity game

Dozens of kids scooted through the crowd as families gathered to watch the Guns and Hoses charity hockey game last Friday.

The event raised more than $13,000 for the Canadian Tire jumpstart program, helping kids to access sports. There was also $103 raised by Save on Foods staff, selling Kraft Dinner noisemakers and operating a donation wheel at the game.

The Hoses (Fire Department) won 6-0 this year, a turn around from last year where RCMP claimed the win.

RCMP Cpl. Brad McKinnon sits with his son Hudson, giving him tips before the puck toss.
