Terrace is off to a stellar start at provincials, taking Kamloops 5-3 in their second game of the championship tournament in Vernon after crushing Cranbrook 10-0 in the first.

While Kamloops got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the first period from Katelynn Merritt and assisted by Taylor Knauff, Terrace tied it up at the beginning of the second with an unassisted goal by Sage Desjardins.

Two more goals by the Kamloops team gave them the lead until halfway through the second period when they got into penalty trouble and Terrace came back and tied the score.

Terrace added two more goals in the third to finish the game in their favour.

The last two goals for the Kamloops team were from Kendall Fitzgerald (1 goal, 1 assist), Coralee Mitchell (1 goal), Allison Borrow (2 assists)and Anna Morrish (1 assist). Terrace’s remaining goals scored by Desjardins (2 goals), Marrisa Nichol (1 goal, 1 assist), Bailey Kasum (1 goal), Myah Bowal (2 assists)and Caitlyn Ray (1 assist). Now Terrace prepares for their game tomorrow against the North Shore Winter Club, one of the top-ranked teams in the province. They suffered a tough 5-1 loss against the North Vancouver team late last year at a tournament in Kamloops, but were about to pick themselves up and take third overall. Look for that game’s results here as soon as they become available.
