To the editor,

I think the community should be grateful that Terrace municipal government has chosen a secular stand. There are so many religions in this world that secularism in government keeps us from total chaos that history has demonstrated time again, a few being the [Spanish Inquisition] the British misery between Catholicism and Protestantism during Tudor times and in Ireland more recently. The two varieties of Islam cannot seem to find peace between their believers. The constant bursts of antisemitism are frightening. Religion is a personal choice that should be practiced quietly and peacefully.

Sincerely,

Deborah Crawford

Victoria, B.C.
