I, too, wrote the Kitimat-Stikine regional district about cost of garbage collection for seniors. I was told that in a perfect world, it would take too many hours to see who was a senior, and there was no mention of any discount!

Kitimat-Stikine sends homeowners a notice the year they will be 65 and their taxes are lowered.

I wrote back to garbage division about this, three weeks ago, and also asked why Terrace only pays $150 compared to Thornhill at $275 a year. No answer. The public should know.
