At the Enbridge event last Tuesday night, spokesman Morgan Yates revealed the reason for the pipeline: if China can’t buy Canadian oil, it’ll buy Middle Eastern.
So, here’s the skinny on Enbridge: China is buying Alberta, which owns Stephen Harper and the Conservatives, who will therefore make sure that China gets what it wants – the pipeline. Pure and simple.
To stop Enbridge, then, buy back Alberta. Trudeau, as even his opponent of the time Peter Lougheed has now admitted, was right: the National Energy Program was in the whole country’s interest.
We could also buy Harper a one-way to Beijing.
