William Ronald (Ron)

LENNAN

November 17, 1925

January 22, 2009

Ron Lennan passed away peacefully on January 22, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born November 17, 1925 in New Westminister B.C. He was the only child of William and Helen Lennan. He is survived by his wife Roberta, son Brian (Caroline), daughters Cheryl (Duane Needham), Lorna (John Sandhals) and grandchildren Dennis and Erin Sandhals, Melissa Yeo, Denise Richter and Brett Lennan.

Ron and Roberta shared many happy days with their friends and family camping, fishing and travelling. He had a passion for model airplanes and was instrumental in starting the first model airplane club in Terrace in the mid 50’s.

Ron was a cabinet maker by trade and although he officially retired from his “job” he was not one to sit around. He started a survey stake business in his mid 60’s and enjoyed his work into his 80’s. He loved Terrace and was happy to spend his days working in his shop and enjoyed the company of everyone who stopped by. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family of Ron Lennan would like to thank all the friends who were so supportive during this difficult time and to the Reverend Wally Hardgrave and the members of Knox United Church who were there to help at every turn.

We would also like to thank Ted and Melanie Gough, Ken Kolterman, Hazel and Del Holtom for their thoughtfulness and constant support during Ron’s illness. We would also like to give special thanks to the staff at Mills memorial Hospital, Dr. Strydom, Dr. Mariette DuBruin, and Dr. Jaco Fourie for their compassion and excellent care throughout this difficult time.
