STURN, William Lawrence (Bill)
passed away suddenly on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the age of 66 following a month long struggle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is survived by his loving wife Joan of 43 years; two daughters: Jaci Guignard (Sylvain) of Kelowna, Lisa Sturn (Mike Wilson) of Budapest, Hungary; four grandchildren: Amélie and Jolie Guignard, Simon and Molly Wilson; his step father Adolph Redlich of Okotoks, AB; brother Garry (Diana) of Peachland and sister Joyce Langston of Calgary.
Bill was a thoughtful and generous husband, father and grandfather. He was passionate about excellence in education and enjoyed a career as a teacher, administrator, superintendent and trustee. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5 at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Andrew’s United Anglican Church in Lillooet, B.C. Cremation. Interment at a later date. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation – Respiratory Unit, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 1T2. A gift in living memory of Bill will be made to “Holding Hands for Hospice” by Springfield Funeral Home.
