October 23, 1950 - June 9, 2020
It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of William (Bill) Fraser Duncan in Nanaimo, BC, on June 9th, 2020.
He is survived by his son Eric Duncan and daughter Amber Hicks; 4 grandchildren, sisters, nieces, and nephews and close friends.
Bill was born in New Westminster, BC in 1950. He moved around BC but, he was a child at the Cassie Hall elementary school and the Skeena Secondary School, and spent a lot of his youth at The Duncan Cabin at Babine Lake where he gained his love of fishing and outdoors.
He settled for some time in Terrace BC where he became a father twice over (1980 & 1982) and White Rock BC to be closer to his mother who passed Dec 9 2014.
He eventually settled his final years in Nanaimo BC where he was close to the ocean that he loved so much. He lived his young life on McDeek Street in Terrace and told the stories often.
Bill had a dry sense of humor that would make you roll your eyes or scratch your head in wonder for his sanity, but then he would laugh at his own joke and you would see his kind heart. He also has a passion for fishing, long road trips, mushroom picking, and a few conspiracy theories, that his children would sometimes tune out. He was proud of his children and loved to point out "the Duncan eyes" on all his grandchildren.
He will be missed dearly.
