In loving memory ~
Bert Bond, a long-time resident of Terrace, BC, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family in Surrey, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, parents Eunice and William Bond, brothers Elwood and Graham, sister Denise, son Michael, and grandson Matthew.
Bert is survived by daughter Gerri Neil, daughter Dawn Bourgeois (Jim), son Bill Bond (Lisa), daughters Sandra Bond, and Shawna Burton (Chris), son Ward Bond, step-daughters Suzanne Urbanczyk (Martin), and Jeanette Brown (Rick). Bert is also survived by sister Wilma Bond, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Bert was born in Drumheller Alberta, with his family settling in Powell River BC. In the mid-1950s he made his way up to Northern BC, cracking a few heads along the way. He met the mother of his six children, Judy, and settled in Terrace BC. He started his career in the Forest Industry where he worked as a faller until retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, a mountain man, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. He had a passion for Bluegrass and Country music. He was very creative with his woodworking and enjoyed working with his hands.
His stories were always full of humor, and his family cherishes the love and laughter they shared with him. Bert was the strongest man we ever knew, facing life's challenges with resilience and a smile. He was loved by so many, and the BOND we shared will never be broken.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will always be remembered with love.
