Willem Cornelis HOMBURG
(Bill)
August 28, 1920 - January 1, 2007
Bill was born in Zaandam, Netherlands in 1920. He suffered from severe asthma as a child and was given a 50/50 chance for survival. In 1943 he was forced into hiding from the Germans until liberation in 1945.
He married Tessie Polak in January 1951 and in the same year, immigrated to Canada. They resided in various towns on Vancouver Island. In 1964 they moved to Prince Rupert where he was a letter carrier in the post office.
They moved to Terrace in 1966 where he was a postal clerk until he retired in 1985. He has contributed many, many artifacts to museums all over the world including the ones here in Terrace. He has worked tirelessly to spread his faith in God in many various ways.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 55 years, Tessie Homburg, his daughter, Naomi, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He left his memory with many and now God came and brought him home.
