We regret to announce the sudden passing of Sylvia Anneta Thompson on May 22, 2006 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 71 years.

She is predeceased by her parents Soren in 1962 and Mary in 1986, husband Finlay in 1975 and 2 brothers, Stewart in 1982 and William in 2006.

Sylvia is survived by her loving family; children Teresa Ward (Torque), Della Britten, Mellany Harper, Belinda Thompson and Dirk (Colleen) Thompson. She is further survived by special friend Charlie, grandchildren; Melton, Laurie and Leah Kindred, Garnet Britten, Candice, Jessica and Christina Harper, Cailin and Meghan Thompson, and great grandchildren; Sydney Lindstom and Alivia Kindred. Sylvia also leaves behind sister Shirley Redfern and brother Palmer (Judy) Sorenson and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Sylvia was an RN, but also had many other interests such as music and singing, gardening, art, ballet, poetry and theatre. She was also an athlete and played rep basketball, she loved to walk, bicycle, swim and dance. Family was very important to Sylvia.

A Celebration of Life service was held at Zion United Church, Armstrong, B.C. on Friday, May 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lorraine Powell officiating. Cremation.

In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Salvation Army.
