Shirley passed away peacefully at the age of 45 in Kingston, Ontario after her courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her parents, Ann & Walter Taylor; her sister Kathy (Kirk Smith) and her three nieces Kallie, Kelsey and Karmen all of Williams Lake, BC; her Godchildren Tanner & Brittany Doerges of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and her many friends whose lives she enriched.
Shirley, known as Squirl to her close friends and family had a passion for sports, a love for cats and could be counted on by all who loved her for her amazing loyalty, generous spirit and great sense of humour. Her commitment to teaching and research were her special gift to Queen’s and as a result she was very highly respected by colleagues and students in the academic community.
A sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful individuals who took such good care of our Shirley. In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Donations may be made to the Queen’s University School of Business Shirley Taylor Memorial Scholarship.
