October 29, 1997 - June 27, 2018
On July 7, 2018, Samuel Patrick Eli Christiansen - beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend and comrade was laid to rest in the Terrace District Cemetery.

Sam was loved and respected by all who knew him, as was made apparent by the many family and friends who said goodbye, at the Thornhill Community Church, (Pastor Rob Brinson presiding). Eight Brothers-in-Arms led him home, with eight of his childhood friends and his brother, as pallbearers.

Sam passed away in a tragic accident in Ontario, and was escorted home with Full Military Honours draped with the Canadian Flag. He was followed by an envoy of Royal Canadian Dragoons from his Regiment CFB Petawawa, to pay respects to their fallen brother, and to participate in laying him to rest.

His mother was presented with the Canadian Flag, and his father, his Royal Canadian Dragoon Beret at the graveside; both of which accompanied Sam from CFB Petawawa. A beautiful Lone Piper and a Bugler helped lay Sam to rest.

Sam was a happy and fun loving child, with a huge infectious smile and easy disposition -  he made many friends. He was sporty and sportsmanlike - skateboarding, biking, snowmobiling, fishing, skiing, and most recently White Water kayaking. He excelled in everything that he chose to pursue. He had a early stellar cadet career with the Terrace 747 Air Cadets, and then joined the Canadian Armed Forces at 17. He had recently decided to come home and join the RCMP.

Samuel leaves to sadly mourn, his Parents - Alan and Sherelyn Christiansen, Brother and friend Jared Christiansen;  Nana and Papa -  Marilyn and Pat Lachapelle; Uncle Colin Lachapelle, Grampa Eli Christiansen (Sharon Daumont) (predeceased by Gramma Beulah Christiansen); Aunty Carolyn Christiansen (Dave Connar) and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves many friends whom he loved as family.

Sam was a bright star in our world for far too short a time. He will be in our hearts forever.
