March 28, 2021
Ronald Bryan Vanderlee, of Terrace, BC peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 28th, 2021 with his wife by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ron was a hardworking and devoted husband, father and Opa who loved his fishing charters with visiting family and friends, camping and being involved in the children's sporting activities. He was an avid reader, lover of music and a wealth of useless trivia. Ron and Sharon spent countless evenings gathering with friends, playing cards and sharing drinks and laughs.
Ron started his career as a Plumber and Gasfitter in Leduc, Alberta before moving to Terrace, where he spent 28 years in various roles at Pacific Northern Gas. Actively involved in his church and community, Ron also served two terms on Terrace City Council.
After retirement and surviving his first difficult battle with cancer, Ron and Sharon hit the road, enjoying 4 warm winters in Arizona. Their travels allowed them to foster new, long-lasting friendships as well as reconnecting with old friends. But they were always eager to return to their home community in Terrace.
Ron was predeceased by both of his parents and 3 brothers. He is survived by his wife Sharon of 47 years, 6 children and their spouses, Stacey (Tom), Denise (Franklin), David (Melissa), Julie (Glen), Jennifer (Clint), Scott (Lindsay), 21 grandchildren, brother Tony (Ann), numerous nieces and nephews and his best buddy Doug.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's Cancer Research Fund or to Lung Cancer Canada.
