Roger Carling-Kelly

July 10, 1948 - December 29, 2018
A wonderful, kind, and talented soul has passed leaving behind his wife and soulmate Brenda. Survived and mourned by our loving daughter Tasha (Rodney), grand children Cierra Kelly and Jaxon Penner. His much loved stepsons Mathew Cheer and Robin Cheer. Mourned by his brother Brian (Diane) in Montreal. Roger was predeceased by his father RCAF Capt. Fitzroy Cavendish Carling- Kelly and mother Gurnee' Carling-Kelly nee Smith.

Roger leaves behind his much loved sister in law Patricia Twombly (Robert), many family members, nieces, nephews, and godchildren who loved and thought highly of their amazing family member.

Roger always said he married into a tribe and he was called uncle and brother from the time of our marriage.

Roger was full of energy, curiosity, sharing his multiple talents, love and intellect. Roger was raised in France, England and Canada. He was head boy at two schools, St. Peters in Exeter, England and Lakefield College school in Ontario. He was a well known massage therapist, musician, and a yoga / meditation instructor. Roger wrote a book "Spiritual Memoirs of a Blessed Life". Roger was an enlightened man of his time, and made the most of his lifetime. Traveling the world. Seeking God and the good in all.

Roger spent the last 22 months at Terrace View Lodge as the progressive disease took it's toll on him with paralysis. A special thank you to Dr. P. Lotz for his care of Roger.

He remained spiritual and accepted the day to day decline of his health. Our family cared for him every day with many thanks to health care workers, nurses and kitchen workers, fellow residents and resident's families who each shared love, care, smiles and humor. Roger had many friends who did not forget him and visited him and brought life into his days. He loved all his friends. Truly, friends are the flowers in this garden of life.

Roger lived in Love and Light with the knowledge that God and Love are the same.

A celebration of Roger's life will be held on March 23, 2019 at 2 pm at the Knox United Church.
