Robert (Bob) Ness LOOK

March 24, 2008

LOOK, Robert (Bob) Ness

Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Bob died peacefully on March 24, 2008. We are happy that he is now with his wife, Kay, who pre-deceased him 1½ years ago. Bob leaves behind children Chris (Debbie), Judy, and Andrea (Dave) Warner, and grandchildren Kristen, Graham (Shyla), Amy, Andrew, Mary, Morgan and Emily. Bob was so loved and cherished. His caring manner and good spirits will be greatly missed.

Bob worked for the CPR before longshoring for many years. He had many wonderful qualities that endeared him to those who knew him: a playful sense of humour, a keen interest in the world around him, a deep appreciation for nature (including his great delight in the “four-leggeds” that he knew, and his ability to spot an eagle from a mile away), and his never-ending efforts to ensure the well-being of those around him. His favourite leisure activities were boating, exploring and spending time at the family cabin on Galiano Island. His grandchildren well remember the trails he made for their enjoyment at the property. Bob also had an adventurous spirit and would enthusiastically follow any road - the more deserted the better.

After living his adult life in Victoria and Coquitlam, Bob spent his last nine months in Terrace. Bob really enjoyed and benefited from the warmth with which he was accepted into the community.

His family would like to thank the Home Care Nurses and the staff of Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace for their compassionate care of Bob in his last days, as well as Dr. Strydom in Terrace and Dr. Attwell in Victoria.
