In loving memory ~
It is with extreme sadness that I announce that Rick passed away peacefully in his sleep at home.
Rick was born in Germany and moved to Australia with his parents when he was five years old. He came to Canada on a trip with two friends in 1971 and lived in Vancouver until he accepted a job in Terrace. In 1972 he was offered a job as a Millwright at Pohle Lumber where he worked until the mill shut down. His plan was to stay in Terrace for two years only but he went fishing and caught his first fish and never left.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, son David (Jamie), Step-sons Jamie (Eliza) and Shawn (Leah), his sister Christine (Peter), his brother Johnny (Vicki) and many family members in Australia and Canada. He will be missed by many friends and neighbours.
Thank you to Dr. Miller (BC Cancer in Prince George) and the wonderful staff in the oncology department in Terrace, and a special thanks to Dr. Ebenhaeser Meyer and Dr. Reed Holden for your ongoing care for Rick.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July.
