Born and raised in the Northwest “Herb” loved everything wilderness and had many tales about his adventures and experiences.
A trapper, logger and fisherman, he lived for many years on the Queen Charlotte’s before returning home to the Nass in 1983. Here he spent the remainder of his years trapping, working for forestry at times in the in the summer and growing vegetables for local market.
Herb was diagnosed with cancer in March and passed away peacefully in Mills Memorial Hospital on April 16th with family and friends at his side.
The family so appreciated the care given both in the Nass and Terrace by friends, Home Care and Nursing Staff and Doctors at Nisga’a Health and Mills Memorial Hospital.
Herb was predeceased by his father Peter and sister Lenore. He leaves behind his mother Jess, sister Marj, brother Doug, son Jim, daughter Lynn, grandchildren, James, Shealeen, Ruby-Ann, Jessica, Dilon, Avery, Carsen, Taylor and Michael. He was loved very much and will be dearly missed. “We love you Dad and you will live on within us”.
