Peggy (Anna Margaret) McKeown (nee Traquair)

Past away in her own home surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Prince George. Graduated from Royal Jubilee Hospital in New Westminister in 1942 as an RN. Worked in wartime Prince Rupert where she met her future husband Jim McKeown and was married there in 1943. Peggy and Jim worked in the lumber industry around the Burns Lake area and at Pendleton Bay on Babine Lake where they had a sawmill. They moved to Terrace in 1957 and started Industrial Distributors and Omenica Building Supplies. Peggy was predeceased by Jim in 1993.

She is survived by her children; David (Lael), Jim (Heather Kolding), Margaret (Russell Rodgers), Helen North (Brad), Joanne and Pamela and grandchildren, Darcy and Margot McKeown, Lucas and Zoe North, Jordan and Matthew Corbeil, Dawn, Russell and Keith Rodgers and great-grandaughter Lila.

A memorial service was held at Knox United Church on December 4.

Peggy was a deeply loved Mother, Grandmother and friend to many and will be missed and remembered for her gifts of love, kindness, humour and strength.
