It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Muriel Michiel at Terraceview Lodge. She was the oldest of four children born to Fred & Muriel Fowler.
Mom had a very active life. She worked at Simpson Sears for more than 20 years, volunteered for Steak Night at the Legion, was a Life Time member of the Happy Gang Center, joined the Heart & Stroke Foundation's "Hearts in Motion WALKING CLUB", in the mall, and was a member of a Rebekah Lodge. She was a staunch Anglican Church member and belonged to the Anglican Church Women's Group. She was an avid knitter and loved "word find" books. Mom also did some travelling earlier in her life, including camping in her camper van, cruising, train trips and visiting her daughter Jean in Vancouver.
A heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff at Terraceview Lodge who took such wonderful care of her. Rest in Peace Mom, we love you.
Muriel was predeceased by her first husband Don Collison, second husband Clarence Michiel, sister Mary Haywood, brother Bob Fowler, daughter Susan Goodmanson, son Don Collison and step-daughter Marlene Sarich. She leaves to mourn her sister Joyce Snider, daughter's Jean Wells and Linda Kawinsky, daughter-in-law Judy Collison, step-son Larry Michiel, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in May of 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital Foundation, 938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4H4.
