Passed away peacefully at home in Campbell River with Nicky and Lois by his side, after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Michael is survived by his loving girlfriend Nichole (Nicky) Jones; his Mom - Lois Bonning; Dad -Grant Bennest (Terrace); sister Jodie Goulet (Ontario), nephews Jared and Ryan, (Windsor, Ontario) and many Aunts, Uncles,Cousins ,extended family, friends and his great cats Turkey Cecil Balls Bennest and Georgie Jones - Bennest.
For everyone who knew him, Mike lived life to the fullest; taking risks, being the life of the party, organizing the tee times, making gourmet meals, and enjoying his passion for fishing and sports. Mike’s greatest joy was the many friendships he made wherever he went.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ramada Inn, 261 Island Highway, Campbell River on Friday June 11th, 2004 at 2 PM.
His family wish to thank all our friends and family who have supported us over the past six months, all the Doctors, Hospital staff and Home Care Nursing in Port Alberni, Vancouver, and Campbell River, and special thanks to Dr. Jim Chan of Vancouver and Dr. Christof Kind of Courtenay.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Mike Bennest Recovery Fund at any TD Bank # 0936-5213457, which will be given to a charity that will fulfill Mike’s wishes to help others.
