Metro Condrat Palagian

(also lovingly known as Matt, Matthew & Gido)

Metro was born in Usherville, Saskatchewan on March 5, 1933. He was the 11th of 17 children.

At 17 years old he joined the R.C.A.F. where he served for 7 years as an Aero Engine Technician.

In 1959 he married the love of his life, Anne Scherban. They moved to Terrace In 1960 where they raised three children. Metro worked as a faller for many years and later owned his own gravel truck. Later he took a job with the Department of Highways, where he worked until his retirement.

Metro enjoyed playing cards with friends, reading, visits around the fire, making wine, hunting, and picking the great pine mushrooms. He spent many happy hours at his mushroom camp in the Nass Valley. In later years he especially enjoyed visits from his grandchildren.

Metro passed away peacefully March 27, 2015.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, 14 brothers and sisters, his wife-Anne, and son-in-law-Dave.

He is survived by his children-Karen (Dan), Ken (Kerry), Kyla (Bruce), grandchildren- James, Alex, Travis, Aaron, Ryan, Grace and Hannah, brother-Nick, sister-Doreen, and many other family members and friends.

His family would like to thank the staff at Mills Memorial Hospital, the Royal Canadian Legion and all the members, and all of the family and friends for their love and support.
