September 27, 1939 - December 26, 2023
Wayne was born in Nipawin Saskatchewan and was the eldest of 6 - Janet, Ron, Barry Ken and Keith. He lived most of his childhood in Cranbrook B.C.
His position with Pacific Northern Gas brought him and his family to Terrace in 1972. Wayne loved his time spent volunteering on the hospital board, being a Rotarian, and coaching hockey.
His favourite activities were golfing, curling, fishing and skiing. He looked forward to his monthly scotch club tasting.
Wayne and Bev met in Creston B.C. They were married in 1963 and were wonderful parents to their three children Kathie (Andrew) Gayle (Scott), and Rod (Deanna). They were proud grandparents of 8 (Taylor, Brianne, Cameron, Matthew, Braiden, Hailey, Justin and Dawson), and were excited to have met their first great granddaughter Willa this past year.
They loved golfing fishing, skiing, and travelling together especially in their retirement years. They enjoyed many winters as snow birds in California and summers at their home on Lakelse Lake.
The family would like to thank Northern Health home support and the wonderful staff at Terraceview Lodge that took such great care of Wayne for the last few years. Thanks also to Terrace Hospice Society and Dr. Fourie and staff for all your support during Bev's illness.
A service/celebration will be held early this summer.
