Mary Jean Kelley, daughter of Jim and Jean Kelley was born at Spokane Washington on October 15, 1954. She passed away on August 28, 2012.

Mary is survived by eldest son Kirk (Lisa) Kelley, of Red Deer, Alberta, daughter Kelley Galloway of Calgary, Alberta, and youngest son Edward Galloway of Haida Gwaii. Sister Sue (Dean) Bergstrom of Terrace, B.C. and 2 grandchildren. Mary also has 5 step brothers and 2 step sisters and 2 nephews in various parts of the country. Mary was predeceased by both parents, a step brother, a step sister and a grandson.

Mary lived on Haida Gwaii for many years in Sewell Inlet and Charlotte City before moving her family to Three Hills Alberta. She went from there to Red Deer ending up as a tech in the Visual Arts Dept. at Red Deer College. She moved to Terrace several years ago and started her own studio called “For the Love of Mud” where she taught and produced her highly sought ‘functional ware’! Mary then returned to Red Deer College and unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer in Oct.2011. She returned to Terrace to stay with her sister Sue while she received treatment but succumbed to the disease.

A Celebration of Mary’s life was held at the home of Sue and Dean on Sat. Sept.1/12 amidst great friends and awesome weather. Mary will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
