Mary-Anne Shaeffer

September 21, 2007

In Loving Memory of

Mary Anne Elizabeth SCHAEFFER

November 10, 1922- August 27, 2007

Mary passed away peacefully at the Terraceview Lodge in Terrace on Aug.27 2007.

Through the years of living in Terrace Mary held various jobs - Telegraph operator, Camp cook, Piano Teacher, Upholsterer, and Book keeper. It was through these jobs that Mary met many people and was known for her generosity, quick wit and compassion. It was this that made her children’s friends call her ‘Ma’ Schaeffer.

Mary dedicated many years until her health deteriorated to The Order of the Eastern Star. Mary’s passion for playing the piano was spread to a large number of students in the Terrace area. Mary was known to be the life of the party, as long as there was a piano to be played. From Honky Tonk, Rag Time and Rock n Roll, Mary would make sure everyone was dancing and having a great time. She was a great cook and those who new her will always remember the great cinnamon buns that she made each year on the first snow fall of the season.

Mary will be deeply missed by her Son Michael(Susan) Schaeffer Daughter Debbie (Les) Lessard, Brother Dr. Peter Postuk (Peggy), her cherished Grandchildren Hayley Lessard, Ryan Schaeffer and many nieces and nephews.

Mary-Anne was predeceased by her husband Spud (Raymond)Schaeffer, Parents Luca and Milica Postuk, Brothers Dido Stinich, Mike and Charles Postuk.

The family would like to thank Dr. Redpath and the staff at the Terraceview Lodge for all the great care that they gave to our mother over the last few years.
