Born in Prince Rupert, B.C. September 16, 1968 passed away suddenly and tragically July 13, 2004 in McBride, BC at age 35. He leaves behind his grieving, loving and deeply saddened parents, Stan (Linda) Shapitka of Costa Rica, Elsje (Terry) Crossie of Oliver, BC; his caring sisters: Desiree Shapitka (her partner Allan Rodger) of Vancouver, BC, Brandy-Jade (Jeffrey) Weeks of Virginia, U.S.A, his uncles Joe (Lillian) Shapitka of Eugene, Oregan, Jerry de Boo of Prince Rupert, BC, his aunts Anita, Winnie, Marion, Eve, Esther, Ann and their families; many cousins in Canada and U. S. A. and many friends. Mark loved the solitude and beauty of nature. He skied and hiked, but flying was always his true passion He was a licensed helicopter pilot. Mark’s ashes will be given to calm winds so that he may fly and explore the Universe in spirit and he will also be resting beside his Baba & Gida and Uncle John at the family resting place in Vancouver. His family had a private goodbye in Prince George before cremation.
