In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, Marion. Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, to Isadore and Mary Stammen, Marion grew up in rural Manitoba, where she cared for her siblings due to the early passing of their mother.
She met her husband Barney in Whitehorse and they lived in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Grand Forks, Vernon and finally, Terrace, where they opened Fabricland with their daughter Lori (Straw) in 1990. Marion did not fully retire until the store closed in 2020. She was 83.
Since then, Marion really enjoyed working with the Terrace Food Bank and the ladies at the Happy Gang. She is survived by her children, Neil (Wendy), Lori (Bart), Valerie, Jason (Janet) and one of Barney's two sons, Wayne, as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her eight siblings, her beloved husband Barney (2001) and his son, Rick.
A funeral mass for Marion was held at Sacred Heart Parish on March 1st. The internment of the ashes will take place at a later date in Vernon, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope International Development Agency.
A talented lady with fierce character and boundless energy.
She stepped up to help others whenever she could.
