In loving memory ~
Marian was born to Grace and Tam (Thomas Anthony) Alexander in Duncan, B.C., was the third of nine children, and was raised in the Cowichan Valley and in Alberta.
Shortly after graduation from high school, she trained to become a nurse at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.
She made her way to Prince Rupert where she met and married Wilhelm (Will) Wandl and had four daughters.
Throughout her life mom always had a ready smile and kind words for those around her. She enjoyed long walks and puttering in her garden. A cup of hot chocolate was rarely refused.
During the last year of her life, mom had a lovely home at Eden Gardens in Nanaimo where she was loved and cared for so wonderfully by the staff. You would find her quite often sitting in her favourite chair gazing out the window to see what new thing she could spot. I know she will be missed by all.
Mom was pre-deceased by her husband Will (July 17, 2016), her brother Jack, and her sister Doreen. She is survived by her sisters Diana, Janet, Kathy, Eileen, Linda, and her brother Robert.
Her legacy lives on in her daughters Ann (Jim), Alexa (Ken), Arlene (Rob), and Lia (Kelly); her grandchildren Scott (Jessica), Brian (Melissa), Grace (Jeff), Nicola, Blake (Katie), Connor, Gavin, and Hailey; and her great-grandchildren Brody and Aria.
Mom touched the lives of so many people, friends and family included. Remember and cherish all of those wonderful memories. Forever in our hearts!
