Born August 14, 1929, in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal.
Passed away on September 22, 2022, in Terrace, British Columbia.
Maria is predeceased by her parents Emilia and Angelo Diogo, her husband Jose (2006), her son Jose Luis (2017), her daughter-in-law Corrine Furtado (2014), her brothers and sisters Manuel Tiago, Jose Pedro, Maria Jose, Angela, and Urania.
Maria will be lovingly remembered by her sons Manuel, Mario, and Nelson and daughters-in-law Leonilda and Lisa.
Eight grandchildren: Margaret, Ricardo, Candice, Tyler, Christina, Mario, Kylee, and Leigha.
Twelve great-grandchildren and so many nieces and nephews.
Maria will be missed by all her family members and friends.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Parish, Terrace, B.C.
The Furtado family would like to express their appreciation to everyone that has shown their kindness throughout her life in deeds, errands, and support, and for your attendance at Maria’s funeral service.
Special Thank You to Nelson and Lisa who were Maria’s primary caregivers and the nurses at Mills Memorial Hospital and Terrace View Lodge.
We would also like to thank Dr. J. Hynd and Dr. B. Berands.
