Maria Natalia Nunes Pereira passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024, in Penticton, BC with her children by her side.
Natalia was born on the island of Pico, Azores, Portugal, to parents Manuel and Leonilda, on January 22, 1939. She loved being outdoors, enjoying the beaches and natural beauty of Pico with her friends and family.
On January 27,1973 she married José Pereira and moved to Terrace, BC. She was excited to start her new life with her husband, in Canada. They later had two children, Nancy and Steven.
Natalia was known for her love of gardening. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching them grow, especially dahlias, her favorite flower.
Natalia was predeceased by her husband, José, in 2006. She is survived by her two children: Nancy (Travis) Mundreon and Steven (Mikala) Pereira; her two grandchildren: Reid and Rose Pereira; her sister: Gilda (Norberto) Brum; and nephew and nieces: Claudio, Vania, & Carla.
She treasured spending time with her family and loved them dearly. She will be deeply missed.
Natalia was laid to rest next to her husband, Jose Pereira, at the Terrace Municipal Cemetery in Terrace, BC on May 25th 2024.
