Margret, Biddy McNab

August 1, 2008

McNab - Margaret (Biddy)

1931 - 2008.

Margaret passed away peacefully at the Stettler Hospital on August I, 2008 at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born in Terrace B.C, to Charlie and Jean Wilkinson. As a small child Margaret was given the nickname "Biddy" and that nickname remained with her all her life.

Biddy grew up in a variety of places in northern BC where her Dad worked as a section foreman along the CN line. The family eventually ended up in Prince Rupert where she finished her schooling. It was in Prince Rupert where she met her future husband Bill McNab. His work in construction took them to Prince George, Vanderhoof, Terrace and a host of other places in British Columbia, including a four year period of pioneering in a log cabin in Dorreen, BC. After the marriage ended in 1974, Biddy started her career as a bookkeeper, working in Terrace, Prince George, Kelowna and Prince Rupert and eventually retiring back in Terrace in 2000.

She spent the last year of her life in Stettler, AB with her son Cam and his family. Biddy was a very social person, always taking great interest in those around her. She was an avid amateur historian of early days in British Columbia, particularly of the northwest. Biddy put together family history albums for numerous family members. These albums were a passion of hers that she continued right up until her passing. She was a great lady, although she would not thank you for saying so.

Predeceased by her parents Charlie and Jean, and a sister Della; Biddy will be sadly missed by her sons, Brian of Prince George, BC, Alan (Sherry) of Comox, BC, and Cam (Debbie) of Stettler, AB; grandchildren, Lindsay, Scott (Jennifer), Melissa and Dustin McNab and Travis (Katie)Martin; great grandchildren, Katelyn McNab and Makaella, London, and Keaghan Martin; brothers, Warren (Jane) Wilkinson of Kelowna and Clifford (Eva) Wilkinson of Terrace; as well as numerous other family members and a host of good friends. In honouring Biddy's request there will be a private memorial service in Dorreen, BC at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society c/o Stettler Funeral Home, Box 1780, Stettler, AB TOC 2LO. Sympathies may be forwarded to the family by signing the guestbook
