Lynn Turner

Lynn Turner (Tooke) was a lifelong educator, passionate about teaching and about her community. She loved helping students overcome their obstacles, whether that involved learning to read, playing a difficult piece of music, or helping them navigate a tough math question.
Born in Vancouver in 1947, Lynn moved to Terrace after obtaining her teaching certificate. She quickly became involved in the community, joining Knox United Church, leading the Skeena cheerleading squad, and ultimately meeting her husband, Gary.
She taught in the Northwest Community College's nursing program and was the practicum coordinator for the Terrace Branch of UNBC. She was also a Royal Conservatory of Music certified teacher and a music director at Knox United Church.
Lynn died in Terrace with her daughters Heidi and Amy at her side.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm at her beloved Knox United Church (4907 Lazelle Ave). All her friends, loved ones, colleagues, and former students are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Terrace or Thornhill Animal Shelter or to Northern Animal Rescue Alliance (NARA).
