ARNOLD-SMITH

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorrie (Lawrence) Arnold-Smith on August 25, 2009, at the age of 53, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Lydia; children, Marisa and Brett; mother, Thora; brother, Brant (Ann-Marie); sisters, Llana and Karen (John); mother-in-law, Annie Elkiw; brothers-in-law, Walter and Jerry Elkiw; nephews, Brant (Chantal) and Madison Arnold-Smith, Steven (Samantha) Elkiw, and Kyle Long; nieces, JuliAnn and Christina Elkiw, Ashley Long, and Megan (Matt) McAlpine. Predeceased by father, Keith, brother, Ron, and father-in-law, Mike Elkiw.

Lorrie was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and son, and a loyal and caring friend. He had many passions and hobbies including archery, golf, the outdoors, and restoring his '38 Chev, and he took great pride in his work as an electrician/motor winder. Lorrie was a talented and meticulous craftsman and a perfectionist in all that he did.

Special thanks to Dr. Raymond, Dr. Bishop, and Dr. Attia; to the excellent home care nurses; and to the incredibly compassionate staff of the Rotary Hospice House for taking such great care of Lorrie and of us.

We've lost the irreplaceable head of our family who brought such richness to our lives. Our hearts are broken and we miss you so very much Lorrie, but we know that you will continue to watch over us just as you always have.

Funeral service to be held on September 5, 2009 at 11:00am at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2414 Vanier Drive, Prince George, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rotary Hospice House or the Canadian Cancer Society.
