In Loving Memory of Lois J. Tutt ~ Lois passed away at age 95 in Chilliwack, B.C. on May 13th 2021.
Lois was born in September of 1925, and raised together with her six siblings on a large farmstead outside of Virden, Manitoba.
Lois moved to Kelowna, B.C., crossing the Okanagan Lake aboard the M. V. Pendozi together with her parents Florence and Thornton Carefoot in 1946, where she would later meet and marry a local, dashingly handsome young man named Keith Tutt - having returned from (WWII North Atlantic Service) the eldest son of Master Tailor Fred Tutt.
Lois began working as a clerk for Growers Supply Company in Kelowna after buying and renovating a small home on Okanagan Blvd. where her two sons Donald and Allan enjoyed playing with neighbors & hiking upon Knox Mountain.
Lois and her family moved to Chilliwack in 1960, where she worked with Dr. Wiggins and Brown, eventually specializing in the Medical Records profession. While in Chilliwack, Lois & her fellow comrades played an important role in Legion and Pipe Band functions.
Lois moved with family to Terrace in 1964, where she worked at the Mills Memorial Hospital. While in Terrace, Lois again played an active role in support of all Legion and Pipe Band functions.
Lois and Keith returned to Chilliwack, BC circa 1972 in semi-retirement, where she continued to work in hospitals throughout the lower mainland, remaining active within the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
In 1995, Lois received a 'Meritorious Service Award' for her outstanding devotion to the Aims & Objects of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies Auxiliary. Lois was an amazing (self taught) pianist, who was often called upon to play the piano at both home gatherings and legion functions.
She was an intelligent, strong minded and beautiful woman who always lead by example.
Mom will be sadly missed by family & friends. Thank you to: Dr. M. McKenzie; as well as all Cascade and Heritage Village staff - for many years of professional health care - and kind support.
