Lee was with the Pacific Coast Rangers during WW II, and was a member of the IOOF for over 25 years. He was predeceased by his wife Adeline (1995) and two of his children, Jack (1965) and Ida (2004).

Lee will be lovingly remembered by his many friends and family, and will be greatly missed by his brothers, Lawrence and Don (Daisy), his sisters, Jessie and Maxine, his children, Lloyd (Yvonne) and Rick, as well as his grandchildren, Brenda Lee, Ken, Steve, Daniel, Michelle, Jill, Kevin, Terry, Shelley and his many, many great grandchildren.
