Karl came to Canada from Austria

in 1956 with the love of his life Ella,

and their three children. Karl and

his young family briefly settled in

Kitimat, where his skills as a sheet

metal worker were quickly put to use.

In 1958 Karl and Ella purchased

their home in Terrace and raised a total of nine children. Not only did he love Terrace and all the great people that were so friendly and helpful throughout his life here, he was proud to call Canada his home. Karl dedicated his life to providing for and loving his wife, children, grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, as he often said, his “greatest achievements”. Even though his early life was one of many challenges and adversities, Karl lived his life without complaints or regrets. He was a passionate and vivacious man who appreciated all he had and worked for. He is deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Karl will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and most heartfelt greetings. As Karl would say, “No Complaints!”

The Sterner family would like to express their

gratitude and appreciation to the staff of

Mills Memorial Hospital,

for the exceptional care they provided

while Karl was in the hospital.

We miss you Dad.
