I am saddened to announce the passing of my mom, Judith Vandergucht on July 26, 2024 at the age of 85. Judith was born in Guernsey UK, on August 31, 1938 to Henry & Lilian.
She would make her way to Canada, where she worked at a newspaper in Montreal, then would travel to BC where she met my dad, Bruce. They were married in 1964, moved to Terrace BC, and raised 2 children.
Mom worked for the school board for years and was involved in many groups and charities, which earned her citizenship of the year in 1982. In 1988 they moved to Falkland where they owned and operated a service station until they retired. She was involved in many organizations in Falkland and loved to write stories for the Falkland news.
Sadly, mom battled Alzheimer's and was in long term care for years. She lost her son Matthew in 2021, and her husband in 2023. She leaves behind (me) her daughter, Jana Stubbs (Steve) and her 3 grandsons Kyle, Devin and Saxxon, plus 3 great grandchildren, and extended family.
She will be missed; I miss them all every day.
