On January 22, 2015 Joe passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital. He was born in Vancouver on January 26, 1929 to Joe and Evelyn McLaughlin.

Little Joe always enjoyed sports especially baseball and was the proud recipient of a first place trophy for a Soap Box Derby. He went to work as a logger when he was 16 and spent the rest of his working life working on the coast. Logging took Joe from the north coast of Vancouver Island to what was then known as “the Charlottes” to Terrace. He loved his work and made many lifelong friends during his 65 year career.

He is predeceased by his parents, brother Jack, sister Pat and first wife, Lorraine. Survived by wife Ellen, sister Margaret, son Ken (Lois) and daughter Andree (Ron), grandchildren Gina, Grey, Josh and James (Alison), great grandchildren Paydon, Canaan, James, Avery, Mackenzie and Kynnedi.

Many thanks to the staff of Westbrooke Community Living Centre and the staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be appreciated. Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. Condolences may be sent to
