Joseph “Joe”
Born November 30, 1917 in Calgary, Alberta, passed away February 24, 2010 in Kelowna, BC. He is survived by his family of five children: Linda DeSousa, Terry Charron, David Charron, Jim Charron, Don Charron; eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Predeceased by a grandson, Wayne.
Joe was born as Joseph Hughes, until his adoption by the Charron family, with whom he lived until age 13. At that time, he left the farm in Northern Alberta to strike out on his own in British Columbia. He worked for the rest of his life until his retirement in the BC Forest Industry. Joe met and married Barb in Merritt, BC, had five children and moved to Terrace, BC in the ‘60’s. They lived there until an accident in his 64th year required him to retire and move in with family.
Joe will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of life and laughter. He will be missed, but fondly remembered by those who loved him.
There was an opportunity for people to visit with the family and pay last respects to Joe on Monday, March 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, followed by a Graveside Service at the Kelowna Memorial Park
