It is with heartbreaking sadness, and much love that we share the passing of John Milburn Eades, on March 10, 2018. John passed in his sleep, and took his place beside his family and friends who predeceased him, including his parents, and brother-in-law John Eley.
John was born in Pasadena, California on September 20, 1947, the son of Mary Rose, and Luther Woodrow Eades.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy, his sister and very close friend Virginia, his children Luke (Diane), Josh (Lori), and Jessica (Saif); grandchildren James, Ember, Jeremy, Yousef, and Daniel.
He will also be missed by his in laws Florence, Mary, Michael, Katie, Nancy, David, and nephews Paul and Kelly.
John touched so many. He was a dedicated educator; supporting students, families, and colleagues. He had a wide variety of experiences - Kindergarten, Primary, and Elementary Teacher, Terrace and District Teachers' Association President, Learning Assistance/Resource Teacher, Acting School Principal, Coordinator of Special Education, Founder and President of the Kalum Community School Society, Vice President of the Terrace Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the Yacht Club.
John was passionate about music, all music. His children remember the stacks of records, his guitar, and the tunes playing during road trips. He took great pleasure in driving, the windier the road the better. John was interested in most sports, but he favoured the Lakers, and Dodgers.
The family has deep gratitude to the many kind folks who shared their time, friendship and compassion with John after his 2012 stroke.
There will be Celebration of John's Life in Parksville/Qualicum on July 14, 2018.
