John Albert Kelly was born in Penetanguishene 5 December 1933 and he died in Terrace on 31 August 2021.
His working life started early on the Walter Inkster, the Stadacona, and other freighters on the Great Lakes before working his way west. He was with Fraser River Pile and Dredge for many years and enjoyed the retirement gatherings related to his union.
John was a proud member of the Garden River Band and drove there in December 2019. In 2020 he revisited the Yukon, where he had worked in the 1960's.
John is survived by two sisters, Monica and Leona, and their many extended family members, and is remembered with love and respect by all of Anne Otto's family, Dave Gougeon's daughter, and will be missed by all his friends, especially Dave Shorts.
John was predeceased by two brothers and by his wife, Dot Kelly.
