Nov 8, 1928 - Feb 19, 2018
Jean Thomson died suddenly, of natural causes, after a wonderful evening dining and dancing with friends.
Jean was a force in the community, active in the Happy Gang, Seniors Games and volunteering with many community groups. She was an exceptional parent and grandparent. Jean is remembered by many as Secretary at Upland's School and as a tour escort to China, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, Tibet and India. In 2011 Jean was honoured to be Terrace's Riverboat Queen.
Jean was predeceased by her husband C F Don Thomson.
She is survived by her sister Gloria M MacLeod (Victoria), daughters: Vikki J MacKay (Ladner) and Joanne D Thomson (Victoria), grandchildren: Davin D MacKay (Ladner), Shawny J Metz and her husband Darcy (Kitimat), K Donald Thomson (Victoria), Elizabeth L Thomson (Vancouver) and great grandchildren Jack and Hannah Metz and her 'sponsored son' Yeshe Wangjor and his family (New York, NY).
Jean's family wishes to thank her community, you made Jean's life rich and rewarding as you joined her at games, potlucks, plays, concerts etc.
We know it was her wish to live in Terrace, fully and independently until the end.
She managed that and we congratulate her.
