July 1, 1932 - October 17, 2020
Inge passed away peacefully from cancer in White Rock, B.C. Inge is survived by Mike, her husband of 56 years, children Derrick and Christopher (Karen) and grandchildren Emily and Katie.
Inge was born in the German village of Paschkerwitz in Silesia, and was a refugee in the Second World War.
After the war Inge became a teacher in Wertheim and developed a passion for skiing. It was after returning from a skiing holiday in 1962, that she met a teacher from England named Mike. It was love at first sight and they were married two years later in Wurzburg before moving to Southampton, England, where Derrick and Christopher were born.
In 1969 Mike accepted a teaching position in Terrace B.C. where the family enjoyed fishing, skiing and hiking for the next 20 years. In 1989, Mike and Inge retired to Hope for 9 years followed by 21 years in White Rock. During her time in White Rock Inge worked enthusiastically to establish a website for her home village of Paschkerwitz.
Inge is remembered for her wit and sense of humour but most of all for her smile. Inge will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends in Canada, Europe and New Zealand.
Inge's family would like to thank the dedicated nurses of the Melville Hospice for making Inge's last days comfortable.
