Ian was born in Decatur, Georgia, USA on January 10, 1966 to Jean and John Black. Ian leaves behind his Mom Jean, his sister Lorna (Phil), his partner Tammy and his beloved and beautiful daughter Megan Jean. Ian was predeceased by his father John.
Ian graduated from Caledonia Senior Secondary, then went on to Devry University in Calgary, followed by Douglas College in Vancouver. After college, he ran Jock's Excavating with his Dad.
Ian's love of motor sports continued throughout his life. He competed in both BC and the USA. His favorite sport was motocross, but he avidly competed and won many times in car racing, sledding, etc. He loved friendly competition both at work and at play.
Ian was a member of the local Masonic Branch "Scottish Rite", and enjoyed the fellowship immensely.
