Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,

And one clear call for me!

And may there be no moaning of the bar,

Howard Craig Cromarty

Howard was born August 31, 1932 on Cromarty Island in the Fraser River near Chilliwack. He left us in the early morning hours of February 9, 2004.

Howard worked many years for RivTow Marine. He worked on the Fraser, Skeena, Nass & Stikine Rivers. In later years he loved to cook, work with wood and repair old furniture.

Predeceased by his parents Sam and Emily Cromarty and older brothers: Roy, Bob, Lou & sister Mary. Survived by brother Bill (Bernice) and sisters-in-law Lily and Helen.

He will be missed by nieces and nephews on both sides of the family who will remember “Unk”

Husband of Marjorie

Father of Norman (Patti), Leslie (Terry), Halvor (Teena) and William (deceased).

Stepfather and friend to Jana, Joy (David), Patti (George) & Margot (Lou)

Grandfather of Leanne (Sam), Melissa, Erika, Becky, Levi, Nicole, James, Tyrone, Michael, Eli, Tristan, Sarah, Megan, Brennan, Kristian & Connor.

Great Grandfather of Nicholas & Bradin.

The family wish to thank everyone who cared for Howard in Mills Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to Sandra Vogel, Kathy Downie & Sandy Johnstone & Elaine Pigeau in ER & Dr. Brown for his care and kindness.

Thanks to Sharon Engele, short term care (a special person) and Allan Leatham for all their help at home. Thank you to everyone who sent food, flowers and cards.

To Reverend Lance Stephens for his care. The Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary, thank you for hosting Howard’s last trip to the Legion. To everyone who attended — Thank You.
