Harry Earnest

On Wednesday September 23, 2009 Harry Earnest Redmond passed away peacefully at age 66. Harry was born in Sundridge, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. He moved to Terrace, B.C. in 1967 and was employed as a faller. Harry met Judy (McCarron) and in 1969 they were married. Harry and Judy had four sons in Terrace, Harry Jr., Jason, Vincent and Carl.

Harry was very active in the community. He was president of the Totem Saddle Club for many years, volunteered for minor hockey, youth soccer, the Secretary/Treasurer for the Lion’s Club, a director on the Outdoor Parks and Recreation committee, and a Director of the Bingo Association of Terrace. Most recently Harry was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Thornhill Agriculture Grounds (TAG) Committee.

Harry was very involved with horses, riding in gymkhanas since 1974. Harry was an excellent singer and enjoyed singing and playing guitar with friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom picking. Harry was a Canuck fan who looked forward to early morning coffee with friends at Tim Hortons and A&W. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour and honesty.

Harry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy, their four sons, Harry Jr., Jason (Paige), Vincent (Tanya) and Carl (Devona) and grandchildren Jacob and Maisy (Jason and Paige) and Rory (Carl and Devona).

Harry holds a special place in the hearts of everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Memorial service was held on Friday, October 2 at Thornhill Community Church (3681 Krumm Road) at 1 p.m.
