September 27, 1928 - May 27, 2020
In loving memory of our Father ~ Harley passed away peacefully in Penticton, where he had been living since August 2019 with his wife Mickey.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Lavone. His mother Diane, his sister Greta and his two brothers Byron and Don.
He leaves behind his wife Mickey, his son Harley (Maria), daughter Leora (Mike), daughter Janice (Gord) five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Having left Vancouver in 1964 working all around B.C. Harley and his family finally settled in to Terrace in 1967.
Harley's career was roofing. He spent many years putting roofs on the residences and businesses of Terrace.
In the late 70's he purchased the land that he came to love now known as Harlee's Place just off Kalum Lake Drive. He worked tirelessly at developing the land. He always enjoyed being outside and taking in the mountain views. We all have many fond memories of the Blue Grass Festivals that were held there in mid-August for a number of years. He loved to see all his friends and family come and enjoy the great outdoors and listen to lots of fabulous music.
Harley lived life the way he wanted to. He was a man that truly embraced the beauty of the north yet never hunted and seldom had the patience to fish. Fish and game were safe from him.
He was blessed with good health, a loving family and community.
His smile and sparkling eyes will be missed.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will not be a service at this time. The family will be planning a celebration of life at a future date. Please celebrate Harley's life with a story and a cheer in his memory.
