A Celebration of Life will be held

Saturday, April 25th @ 1:00 p.m. at the Zion Baptist Church

Gisela passed away Friday morning, April 10, 2015, in Prince George, surrounded by her family. After bravely battling cancer for 6 months, her health deteriorated rapidly in the last few weeks.

Gisela was born in Germany and her family immigrated to Canada in 1952. Her parents and 2 younger siblings settled in Old Remo in April of 1956. Gisela and her husband, John Williamson, joined them in Terrace in the summer of 1957, where together they raised their family. She married her second husband, Alexis Maikapar, in November, 1991. Mom loved to sing and was a founding member of The Northwest Singers, played clarinet in the beginner band, and played in a small recorder group. When she moved to Prince George she continued her love of music by joining choirs and a recorder group and performing in the community. She passed on her love of music to her family and had all her children singing in church at an early age.

Mom is survived by her: husband, Alexis Maikapar; brother Manfred (Gabi) Westeroth; sister Sigrid (Jürgen) Bahr; son Peter Williamson; daughter Debbie Kennedy and children Katy (Cole) & Andrew; daughter Ruth (Terry) Wright and children Emily & Rachel; son Dan (Linda) Williamson and children Megan (Matt), Kimberly, Sean and Alyson; daughter Joy (Joe) Mogg; son-in-law Jack Kennedy and her first husband, John Williamson.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hearing Hearts Ministry, PO Box 575, Terrace, B.C. V8G 4B5

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to Me.”
