It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of George Haugland at Mills Memorial Hospital. He was born February 18th, 1933 in Terrace and died on May 30th, 2017.

George was predeceased by his first wife, Nora, parents Emil and Bertha Haugland and sisters

Dolly Murie and Honey Owens.

He is survived by his wife of 27years, Valorie, daughters Kari (Bruce), Lisa (Les), step daughters Jackie (Steve) & Jodi; grandchildren Natasha, Paige, Bryce, Ryler, Laekyn, Steven & Kaitlyn; one brother Wilfred Haugland and a sister Pearl Paulson plus many nieces and nephews.

George began working in the logging industry at an early age and had his own business, “George Haugland Trucking”. His passion was being involved in the community. He belonged to the RCMP Auxiliary for many years. He was a

member of the Elks Club for 58 years and served as

Exalted Ruler three times. He had never missed a kids sports day at the park until this past May. In his younger years he was active in the local baseball leagues and eventually bowling became his sport of choice. Along the way there was nothing he liked better than camping and fire pits!

A gathering of family and friends was

held June 4th, 2017 at the Elks Hall.

In lieu of flowers, a donation for

improvements to the Elks Park in Terrace would be appreciated.
